lyrics

I looked through all the books for the stories of the Witches Cauldron,
And I stood in the woods at the foot of the tallest mountain.
All I saw were trees and caves.

The leaves shook softly in the breeze
As a branch reached out for my clothes.
A cave whispered to me as eyes stared right through me
From the back of its throat.
All I heard was, “Walk away.”

Just let me pass.
I’ve got no question to ask.
I just want to look inside and scream.

In the dim light I felt for my limbs, but I couldn’t feel anything.
In the distance snow fell and a ghost floated up from a shallow grave,
And it howled, “We’re the same!”
My fingers unfurled and curled into the soil of the mountainside.
My ribs hinged open and formed a little doorway to a different life,
And I realized we’re all trees and caves.
